Visual Identity for Garba

NID Garba is an annual event celebrated during the nine days of Navratri at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. Students, staff, friends and family gather dressed colourfully to dance Garba, a circular form of dance to the rhythm of the dhol.

The concept I chose to work around for this year's visual identity is inspired by the rhythmic, circular movement of the dancers. I tried to incorporate the decorations, colours of the outfits and synchronised dancing into the identity, such that it all adds up to an almost spiritual, trance-like feeling.
